UPDATE - Joseph K. & Leela Joseph, National Church Planter, India 10/23/09

Joseph & Leela JosephDear Prayer Partners,
Greetings to you in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you, my dear brothers and sisters, for your constant prayers and support for the ministry here in India. The Lord is blessing us and we truly praise the Lord for you.

Bible College:
180 students from India, Mayanmar and Bangladesh are being trained in the Maranatha Baptist Bible College where both of us and our daughter Debbie are teaching. These students speak different languages. We will never be able to go and preach to the people in their lands. But thank God that we can train them, so that they can do the job for Jesus.

Joseph - Baptist Preacher's InstituteBaptist Preachers’ Institute:
Who will care about the training of pastors who never had any Bible training? The Baptist care ministry does, with your help. We just finished a short-term course in the State of Orissa, which has been a hot spot of persecution. Thirty-two pastors attended the course, where 4 subjects were taught.

Orissa Church:
Eleven people came to the Lord early this month through the preaching of the gospel in Orissa State.
Praise the Lord. Our newly planted church in Orissa is growing. We need to move out of the present facility and find another place, which is very hard. No rental buildings are available, especially for Christian work.

Joseph - Baptist Care OrphanageBaptist Care Children’s Home:
We have 12 children in the children’s home. Three of them still need sponsors. $30 US per month is needed for one child’s food, accommodation, schooling, clothes, etc. More needy children are there who also need help.

Praise:

  • For souls saved.
  • The Paramount church in Greenville, SC, has promised 2 bicycles for needy pastors.
  • Wedding Bells! The Lord helped us to find a fine young man for our daughter, Deborah. The marriage will be January 2, 2010, Lord willing. Please pray for this couple.

Pray for:

  • A building for our church and orphanage in Orissa.
  • A pastor’s house was destroyed by anti-Christian activists. He needs $600 US to rebuild the house and $300 US to repair his church building, which was also damaged by the enemies.
  • We are in need of support for our personal needs and the ministry.
