UPDATE - Jacob Kiran & Preshanti Gaddala - National Church Planter, India 3/5/10
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We continue to marvel at how God works and moves in our lives. I am so thankful that the Lord has everything under control, that nothing takes Him by surprise and that even when we think all hope is lost, God still gives hope. Isaiah 55:8-9, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
The last two months were very busy for me, taking two classes, and I have yet to finish one research paper next week and start another paper immediately after that. Time is going very fast in trying to keep up the pace. But I thank you all for your sincere prayers and faithful financial support, which is enabling us to go forward. Sometimes it is hectic and tiresome, but we are just persevering to stay on track to be obedient to His call. These days I am thinking very seriously about my dissertation topic, and one of the major concerns I have is that there is so much allegorization of the Scriptures in India with the influence of Charismatic movement. So I want to emphasize the normal interpretation of the Word of God so that I can contribute something in the context of my country. Please pray that the Lord will bring everything together. I humbly thank the people who are supporting my tuition fee, without which I could not continue my studies, and I thank all the churches and individuals who are praying and supporting us on a monthly basis.
Please uphold our family in your prayers. My wife has been sick for about a week, but the boys are doing good. Please pray for the need of $1500 US for my tuition fee this summer. Also, when we went to India in 2008, we helped one of my pastor friends to start a church 20 miles away from my hometown. There are some Hindu families attending the worship. Right now they are gathering in a hut (a believer's home) and now they are in the process of building the church (a small asbestos shed). In addition to the support of their members, they are in need of $1200 US to complete the church and they want to be done before rainy season. We are seriously praying that the Lord will provide the money needed to complete the church. Also please pray for the need of $200 US per month for Abiel's school tuition. Please pray for our upcoming trips and safety on the road.
