UPDATE - Aseervadam (Pr. Blessing) & Sampurnam Polimetla, National Church Planter, India 7/14/10
Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus. We are praying for you daily in our prayers. Please pray for me also.
We believe the Bible and the words and promises of the Lord will be fulfilled their time. As the Lord says about his second coming in Matthew 24:6-14 and Luke 17:26-27, the signs are being heard and seen around the world. Everywhere we are seeing floods, earthquakes and wars very often. I am thinking the Lord is coming very soon. People in the world are not hearing the Gospel, and those who are hearing are not accepting Christ as their personal Savior. Worldliness and nominal Christianity are increasing. The time is very short and the goal is very long to reach perishing souls with the Gospel. As you may know, I am preaching the Gospel through a local TV station in our mother tongue (Telugu), every Monday, from 11-11:30 AM. This costs $250 US, 4 times per month. To meet this need, God helped me through my son and some other local sponsors who are inspired by God. Pray for it to continue without break, because millions of people in India are idol worshipers. Through the Gospel only we may reach them and redeem them from their sins. In India only 3% are Christians, so the burden is great for me as an Indian to bring my fellow countrymen to our Savior.
Again in the month of May, a cyclone hit the coast of South India's Andhra Pradesh state. More than one million people have been affected from the category 1 Cyclone Laila that unleashed heavy rains across 775 villages. Nearly 100,000 people were evacuated into schools, government buildings, cyclone shelters and other safe centers. Loss of life has been significantly minimized, but this time personally I had a big loss. My house compound wall fell down and the church building's doors and windows were broken. The church compound site level is very low, so water entered into the buildings and there is water damage. Now I need more money for repairs and to level them to height and reconstruct the doors and windows.
I am planning to celebrate my Silver Jubilee this year on September 17th, the day which marks 25 years completed in my ministry as a full-time pastor. I resigned my teaching profession in 1985. I am inviting you all to attend this function and glorify God as a part of my ministry. Pray and do as God guides you, and let me know if you can attend so I can arrange my program schedule.
I am 67 years old now, the father of four children; one daughter and three sons. They all are married and have their own families now. My third son, Vijayakumar, is 36. He is working with me as an assistant pastor. He finished his Masters degree in Information Technology (MScIT),but is dedicated to full-time ministry. He is blessed with a 2-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter. The income that we are getting from my churches is not sufficient to meet both our minimum needs, so he needs some monthly support. He took theological courses for 6 months in YWAM at Mumbai and also did some courses in Maui, Hawaii. He got a 10-year visa to the US at that time. He wants do some short-term courses in your country; perhaps some leadership seminars or theological courses in a church. I can't do things in the future like he will, because I am old, but in the days of my life on this earth I will guide him with my experience to go forward. So pray for him to have this opportunity. Thank you all.
