UPDATE - Andres, Methosalem, Philippines National Church Planter currently in US 3/9/10

Methosalem & Teonet AndresDear Partners in the LORD,

"Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart" (Psalm 119:2). 2010 brings another opportunity to serve the LORD as he calls us in the ministry, since he saved us through His wonderful Son Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 1:9. I lost many people in my Bible studies since our economic downturn in America. Some moved to other cities, others went back to the Philippines, and some died. Others want to attend, but have job conflicts of schedule, so they are not able to join us. But I'm still seeking other souls in order to share the Gospel of Christ. I just want to consider doing some soul winning, personal evangelism and passing out Gospel tracts into different areas.

Sometimes I receive calls from different people who are in need of counseling and prayers. There are times I have done some Bible study just over the phone. Also I did hospital visitations; just visited those who are sick and prayed for them, and passed out gospel tracts to the nurses and other people. There's a nurse named Aida Cruz who wants to join me in our Bible study sometimes; she is actually a Methodist in faith. But before I left her in the hospital, I just shared a lot of spiritual insight that Christ is the only way to Heaven and its not through water baptism. I also met a man named Mr. Ubo who owns three care homes, and I introduced myself to him and tried to encourage him if I can start a care home Bible study. Praise God, he has already allowed me to have a Bible study in one of his care homes at least once a week, but I'm still praying about his other two homes, that soon I can start there, too.

March 3-5, I had the privilege to attend the Shepherds Conference in Los Angeles. There were 5,000 delegates who came from Canada, Philippines and some other places. It was so interesting since we studied different topics like Preaching from a Pure Heart, Parental Guidance, In Obedience to Christ and other topics. I was really blessed by God. It was also my opportunity to introduce the ministry of IGM. I met a lot of Filipino pastors like IGM partner Bro. Edwin Ormeo, and some coming from the Philippines and Canada. There are two more incoming ministers' conferences in April and September in North CA.

The Lord's ministry back in the Philippines is still going on; they are striving and committing themselves to be faithful in doing God's work. My wife, my daughter and I got sick last time I was there. Just continue to pray for my daughter's health since she has an asthma allergy.

Also pray for our papers from Immigration; we don't know why their decision to approve our application has taken so long. Please do help us to pray that the USCIS Officer will pick up our paper and sign it for approval so that my family can come with me for mission work. Last time Immigration said 60 days and then we would receive the decision, but until now, still nothing.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. May God bless us together as we love our Savior Jesus Christ.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Approval of I-129 R-1 Visa so that my family can join me in the US.
  • Reinstatement of my Driver's license.
  • Financial support for family and ministry.
  • Additional Bible studies and growth of mission outreach.
