Tony & Kim Ledbetter: IGM Missionaries - Haiti 9/01/09

Ledbetter, TonyFurlough Project
As we began our furlough, one of our goals was to raise money to finish the building project of the auditorium of Calvary Baptist Church in Haiti. The bottom level has been done for almost a year now, and we have been utilizing the building for Children’s ministry, Bible school classes, and a Vocational School that Pastor Paul began in April. Our auditorium will be approximately 40 x 90 ft with a nice platform and baptistry. Our plan is to finish the building with wooden trusses and metal roofing, with an estimated price of $15,000 for the material to complete the building. This should include the finishing work inside. We have already had approx $2500 that has come in for this much-needed project, and another $2000 promised. The finished project will open up the existing church for the children’s church and other activities. Please pray earnestly regarding being involved in this special project. We have no doubt that God will meet the needs to finish the auditorium. When I returned to Haiti for the week of August 11-18th, Pastor Paul pleaded with me to try to get the roof on before hurricane season, which has already begun. All donations can be sent to IGM, designated for Ledbetter building project.

First-time Visitor in Haiti
During my August trip to Haiti, Pastor John Riker accompanied me and visited the ministry in Haiti for the first time. We kept busy as we visited, preached several times, and had a youth activity on Saturday. It was a blessing to have Bro. John come and actually see the work first-hand. John is the Co-Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, our commissioning church in Linton, IN. Our church in Haiti was started under the authority of Calvary in Linton, with Gene Riker being the Senior Pastor. I’m sure the trip has changed Pastor John's thought and insight concerning the mission field. We praise the Lord for the spiritual decisions made during the week.
