Kouami & Afi Medikor
IGM TOGO Ministries Founder
Kouami was born on Jan 1, 1963, in Togo, Africa. In early 1972 he received the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior and was baptized by immersion in April, 1972.
“I was born in an animistic family where my grandparents were both witch doctors. We sacrificed animals to idols as we lived and were fed by these practices. God in His majesty and glory touched our family through one of my uncles, who was seriously ill and not able to be healed by his father’s idols. He was saved thorough an ambulant minister in our homeland. As a child, I used to follow him to church and listened to the preaching of the Word of God. My uncle told me one day about Christ and His love for me. He shared John 3:16 and basically went through the Roman’s Road, concluding with Romans 5:8. I then accepted Christ as my personal Savior in April 1972. I was ridiculed by my friends and school mates. However, God put His love in my heart and I started to tell people about Christ. My desire now is to start a national work and train people to go into villages and towns to start independent local churches.”
Kouami came to the United States to get his Bible training. He graduated from the former Spurgeon Baptist Bible College, in Mulberry, FL, with a BA degree; then he also graduated from New Orleans Baptist Seminary, LA, with an MA. He was officially accepted as a missionary with IGM on February 6, 1999. He is sent out by Faith Baptist Church, State College, PA. He raised his full support and left for the field of Togo in January, 2001. Since going back to Togo, he has trained many men; 5 are now also with IGM. Pastor Midekor currently oversees 16 churches and runs a TV station, among other ministries for the glory of God. He is currently developing plans for a Bible College in northern Togo.
