Gary & Nancy Newhart, IGM Executive Director 7/15/10

Gary & Nancy NewhartGreetings, unconditional love in the precious of our Lord Jesus!

Faith is a very vital part of the child of God’s life. Hebrews 11:6 makes this very clear: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Faith can be defined as conviction, confidence and cleaving. When unexpected changes come in our lives, faith becomes engaged. My schedule for the month of July has gone through some unexpected changes. I knew that I was going to visit Haiti July 19-25. Then I received a call from Brother Rex Furman, our International Field Director, that he was very ill and would not be able to accompany Dr. Douglas Blanc, our Global Academic Director, to Jamaica, July 17 through August 2. Since Dr. Blanc is new in his position, I felt compelled to accompany him, at least during some of his time in Jamaica. I will connect with Dr. Blanc July 26 through August 2. I will have less than a day home after returning from Haiti to get repacked and ready for the Jamaica trip. Please pray for these two trips, that our goals can be achieved for His glory!

Update: Nancy is doing better with the nausea. We were able to get her doctor to take her off almost all of her medications. She is on a special eating plan for abdominal problems and she feels some better; at least the nausea is gone. She doesn’t feel as good as she desires, but praise the Lord there is some positive progress. She continues to manage the IGM office daily, and even has additional responsibilities when I am out of the office. Please continue to pray for complete healing.

We had a tremendous time with our daughter’s family, July 4-10, helping Faith and Steve by caring for our five grandchildren while Faith attended an intensive class at Liberty University. During our stay the weather was HOT—one day the temperature was 109, and at 9 PM the night temperature was still 96 or higher! On July 11 on our way home, we stopped at Daniels Missionary Baptist Church, Daniels, WV, to present and update our ministry. They are great people and demonstrate a continued love for the Lord.

Shortly after I return from Jamaica, the Mission Training School will be starting, August 12-19. Please continue to pray that the Lord will send the ones he wants to attend. Many of the National Pastors’ visas have been turned down. Pray as we prepare for the school.

Please continue your prayer and encouragement, which are deeply appreciated as we face daily struggles and decisions. We also thank you for your faithful prayer and financial support.
