We continue to seize upon the opportunity to spread the love of Christ to this Buddhist dominated nation. We also continue to monitor the situation in Myanmar. It will be many months before they will be able to harvest another crop. Nearly 100,000 people lost theirs lives and millions have been displaced as a result of Cyclone Nargis. Dear Ones:
It has been two weeks since surgery. All went well and the reconnection was a success. Unfortunately, I got an infection in both wounds. They are packing it everyday and healing it from the inside out. It is painful. I am on a antibotic regime and will return to the Dr. tomorrow. The antibotic has caused severe diahrrea and that has not been very comfortable. The Dr. believes that the infection should clear in two weeks and the wounds heal up. She is up and doing exercises, walking and strengthening her arms and legs. She tries to stay a good portion of each day but does need a small nap in the morning and the afternoon. Please continue to pray for us. We are having a nurse come in everyday to pack the wounds. We thank God for this good help. We love you and know God will bring good out of this situation and glory to His N ...

Myanmar has been in a crisis situation since a devastating cyclone hit on May 3, 2008. Current reports are citing that the death toll may top 100,000. In addition to those already dead from the storm, more are dying because of injuries, illness, and a lack of clean water, food and sanitation. The situation is getting worse as each day passes. Most of them had lost everything; their homes, possessions, rice store, crops and animals were all gone. There is fear that there may be ensuing epidemic outbreaks of malaria, cholera and other diseases. Several million people are in dire need of support.
