Ryan and Rebecca Boonstra joined IGM in 2008. Ryan received Christ as his personal Savior at the age of five years old, after hearing the Gospel message.  He was baptized when he was eight years old and surrendered his life to Christ.  When he was nine years old, God laid a burden on his heart to be a missionary in Africa, after hearing African missionaries speak. He has been involved all his life in serving the Lord in various ministries.

Rebecca is the daughter of John and Wendy Bovard, IGM missionaries in Kenya. She grew up in Kenya and speaks their language like a native. Rebecca received Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 4 and was baptized at 9. She made her salvation sure at the age of 11. Now she knows God has a special plan for her life and is ready to serve Him. She has a great burden for the many orphan children in Kenya.

Through IGM, Ryan and Rebecca went on a one-year short-term mission trip to the Mt. Kenya Children's Home in Naro Moru, Kenya, in 2006. While there, they cared for several orphan children with special needs. They returned to Kenya in 2008 after partnering with IGM, where they administered the Mt. Kenya home. In 2010, they also partnered with the Naro Moru Children's Home. The medical needs in Kenya are great, including many cases of HIV/AIDS children, and many of these children do not receive any care. The children's needs are both medical and spiritual. Along with the national church planters, they want to start youth and children’s programs in the churches, schools and communities, reaching the youth and children of Kenya with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. During their last furlough in the US, the Boonstras also accepted the position of Faith Ministries International Orphan Coordinators to all the East African orphan ministries.
